The estate captivates with its warm atmosphere, restaurant with views, and experiences for travelers seeking authentic local flavors. An ideal stop during a stay around Punta del Este.
History and philosophy of the estate
Mauricio Zlatkin and his wife Rosane, who arrived from Brazil, discovered Pueblo Edén and decided to plant their vineyards there. They chose this terroir of rocky hills, often called the "Tuscan landscape of Uruguay", to develop a human-scale vineyard. From the outset, they committed to sustainable viticulture, respectful of the environment and open to innovation. Thanks to this vision, Viña Edén grew rapidly and became a reference in the Maldonado region.
An exceptional terroir in service of wine
Viña Edén's vineyards flourish on mineral-rich rocky soils, caressed by Atlantic breezes. Combined with a unique microclimate, this particular terroir produces wines with distinctive character. You'll find Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Tannat, Merlot, and Marselan, hand-harvested. These varietals yield an extensive range of wines: reds, whites, rosés, sparkling wines, and even fortified styles, many of which have won national and international awards.
A privileged and modern location
At Pueblo Edén, just a short distance from Punta del Este, this destination benefits from a unique terroir: rocky hills, mineral-rich soils, Atlantic breezes, and a favorable microclimate. These natural conditions provide an ideal setting for cultivating diverse grape varieties, within sustainable and organic farming practices.
The winery's architecture complements this environment. Designed on three levels, the building harnesses gravity to guide each stage of winemaking, from pressing to barrel aging.
Visiting Viña Edén
Your visit to Viña Edén begins with a stroll through the vineyards, accompanied by a guide who shares the estate's story and philosophy. Next, you move inside the winery, where you follow the different stages of winemaking—pressing grapes, fermentation in concrete tanks, and aging in oak barrels.
Depending on your chosen package, you may even taste wine directly from the barrel. It's a rare experience that lets you appreciate the freshness of a vintage still being crafted. Several tasting formats are available. Each is paired with local products that enhance the wines: artisanal bread, cheeses, charcuterie, and vegetarian pâtés. As you taste, you discover some of the house's signature labels, such as Méthode Champenoise, Chardonnay, or Tannat Reserva.
If you'd like to linger longer, the panoramic restaurant welcomes you with cuisine inspired by the terroir, prepared from fresh organic ingredients.
Flavors that extend beyond wine
At Viña Edén, your discovery doesn't stop at wine. You can taste locally produced extra virgin olive oil. You also have the opportunity to enjoy a Tannat liqueur, highly prized by visitors. Finally, you can discover original cuvées such as the sparkling "3D", produced on lees without disgorgement.
The estate also pays careful attention to bottle design, with elegant labels engraved directly onto the glass.
