Discover Uruguay through our tailor-made circuits, designed by Pierre and his team from Montevideo. Each itinerary is crafted to reveal the multiple facets of the country: the urban life of Montevideo and its Rambla, the Portuguese streets of Colonia del Sacramento, the working estancias of the gaucho hinterland, and the Atlantic coast from Cabo Polonio to Punta del Diablo. Whether you travel with family, as a couple, or with friends, our circuits adapt to your pace. From a 10-day discovery circuit combining capital, river, and coast to a grand 3-week journey including whales, estancias, and northern lagoons, find the itinerary that suits you and set off with peace of mind with an English-speaking local agency.

How to choose your circuit in Uruguay?

The country's size allows for varied itineraries without exhausting transfers. For a first trip, our 13 to 17-day packages combine Montevideo, Colonia, an estancia in the countryside and the Atlantic coast up to La Paloma or Cabo Polonio, covering the essence of Uruguayan landscapes. For travellers with more time, our 18+ day circuits add the lagoons of the Rocha department, the hot springs of Salto and the vineyards of Carmelo, or even a detour to Buenos Aires by ferry. Our team builds each itinerary according to your pace and the seasons: the same route looks completely different between January and July.

Different circuit types

We design three main families of itineraries. Cultural circuits explore Montevideo in depth (tango, candombe, markets), Colonia listed as a Unesco site and Tannat wineries. Adventure circuits combine horseback riding in the estancias of Tacuarembó, kayaking in the Rocha lagoons and whale watching between July and October. Family circuits focus on estancias with children's activities, the calm beaches of La Pedrera and encounters with sea lions at Cabo Polonio, accessible by 4x4 through the dunes.

What is the best season?

Uruguay experiences four distinct seasons. The austral summer (December to March) sees temperatures of 25 to 32°C, perfect for the coast but with heavy Argentine crowds in Punta del Este and higher prices. Spring (October-November) and autumn (March-April) remain our peak periods: 18 to 24°C, green landscapes, fewer visitors, ideal for combining all regions. Winter (June-August) drops to 8-15°C, perfect for estancias by the fireplace, cultural Montevideo and whale watching on the Atlantic coast.
